"I hope you will send me your criticisms about my collections; & it will be my endevou that nothing you say shall be long on me" -Charles Darwin, Letter to J.S. Henslow July 23,1832
This is part of the letter accompanying the animals and plants Darwin has collected to date. Darwin was open to criticism - and he received it. Henslow chastised Darwin's collection. Damaged plants, birds without labels, mysterious liquids contaminating parts of the collection. But Darwin took the criticisms to heart and, by the time Darwin returns, he will be a scientific rock star.
