My Year of Darwin 10/24/2014: pulling in experimentation for natural selection

 Charles Darwin

"the greatest amount of life can be supported by great diversification of structure, is seen under many natural circumstances." Charles Darwin, Origin of Species 1st edition (on Kindle)

The word that pops into mind is niche differentiation and this is one of the explanations for why there are so many species in the tropics - birds had divided up a resource that could be divided up. I don't believe it.
