My Year of Darwin 12/25/2014: Hand me the remote.. islands

 Charles Darwin

"A volcanic island, for instance, upheaved and formed at the distance of a few hundreds of miles from a continent, would probably receive from it in the course of time a few colonists, and their descendants, though modified, would still be plainly related by inheritance to the inhabitants of the continent. Cases of this nature are common, and are, as we shall hereafter see, inexplicable on the theory of independent creationCharles Darwin, Origin of Species 1st edition (on Kindle)

Creationism is not scientific because it cannot be falsified by those that propose it (and other reasons) but it does make falsifiable claims. Distributions, I'm not sure are one of them. Organisms could have been created on remote islands. But if you're a Biblical literalist then remote distributions of organisms with poor dispersal ability present a problem since those organisms would need to have landed there post-flood. But we would see a genetic bottle neck of ALL terrestrial organisms about 10 K years ago. But we don't.
